Marvin, I believe that is not a call center; that is a \Switch Office\ — looking at the wires they are holding, they are receiving the calls from people (who are connected via the wires) and transferring them (the wires to another port) to the connect number manually. My mommy worked part-time in a switch office like this, she said what they did was when someone called, they will connect that someone to another person (usually for overseas calls). Today, switch offices are fully automatic. You can still see them today everywhere, they are the \PLDT gray boxes\ you see in your neighborhood, they are usually \caged\ so that people wouldn’t play with them. I guess a lot of \switch office operators\ lost their jobs hehe :p but those are not call centers. Call centers talk to the callers; switch office operators just transfer the callers (they probably talk to them to just ask where they want to be connected)
